My name is Dorothy Vars. I am the oldest of 7 siblings raised in Hoosick Falls, N.Y.
I attended the St. Mary’s School graduating in 1970. Then achieved an Associate Degree in Business Science in 1972 from St. Joseph’s College in Bennington, V.T.
I have been married for 46 years and currently live here in Wynantskill. I have 3 children, 5 grandchildren and recently became a great grandmother.
Working with children has been a rewarding part of my life. Over the years I have volunteered at my church during VBS events in addition to working at the morning and aftercare programs in the Averill Park School System for almost 10 years.
Children have always brought me such joy and working with them keeps me young! My employment began in 2014 at St. Jude the Apostle School as a Teacher’s Assistant for the Kindergarten Class. I worked with that age group for 4 years and currently assist with the Pre-K 4-year class for soon to be 5 years.
My role at St. Jude the Apostle School has been so fulfilling to me. The children, faculty and the staff are, and have always been, so enjoyable to be involved with. Many special moments shared indeed……
