When I was 18 years old I took a job as a Nanny for a family with six children. Spending 10+ years with this family is what inspired me to want to work with children. Upon having my own family, I took all the nurturing, support and love and easily carried that with me as I raised my own. During which time I also attended HVCC and obtained my Associates in Early Childhood Education. While in college, I was able to accomplish my student teachings in my children’s classrooms which was very important for me. I believe in being involved as much as possible in the early education years. I took a few years off after graduation to solely be available for my family before returning to work in education. When I decided to return I took a position in Troy City Schools working with Special Education and Behavioral Children as a Teaching Assistant for 5 years. Fast forward to 2022, the opportunity came along for a new position here at St. Jude as the head teacher for the Averill Park Universal Pre Kindergarten program. Because I have a passion for educating and nurturing children, as well as a creative side, I decided this might be a great opportunity for me to fulfill my desire to create an organic learning environment that suits both the needs of the students as well as the schools expectations.
