Virtual music lessons with Miss Hill have included topics such as bucket drumming, singing, and musical instruments. Students in Pre-K, kindergarten, and first grade have all been watching weekly pre-recorded class videos. These videos continue the content students were learning before online classes began. Students have been learning about the traditional instruments you would find in an orchestra, the different instrument family categories, and about the role of the conductor.
Besides learning about instruments, these students have also been learning the “My Plan” song. “My Plan” is a song that was written by Miss Hill. The song was written for her students, and her intention was to send her students both a loving and educational message. The song sends a message on how to be safe during Corona times, as well as also sends a reminder that all of their teachers still love and miss them.
The older students in grades 2 through 6 have all been receiving pre-recorded class videos from Miss Hill where she teaches bucket drumming lessons. Last week Miss Hill was able to host her first live bucket drumming class, and she could not be happier with how it turned out!
Miss Hill now has a plan to begin live classes with all students in grades 2 through 6. She is currently in the process of putting together a schedule. Miss Hill will be creating a Music Google Classroom for all students in grades 4 through 6. All Zoom class invites and posts will be sent through this platform. As for grades 2 and 3, Miss Hill will be sending messages through the students Seesaw account.
Miss Hill misses all of her students, hopes that they all continue to be healthy and safe, and looks forward to seeing them soon!
