St. Jude the Apostle School cooperated with Siena College students in raising awareness for homelessness this month. We collected needed items for the Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless: hand sanitizer, anti-bacterial wipes, and facial tissues; all items that tend to be forgotten this time of year when most people are donating Thanksgiving type food. Our collection culminated with a dress-down day where the students and staff donated a monetary amount in order to dress down and the $190.00 collected was donated to IPH. The Siena students who were coordinating this project as part of their Management class visited with all students in grades K-6 and played games, answered questions, read a picture book and led discussions about homelessness and what we can do to help. Proverbs 19:17 “Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord. and He will repay him for his deed.”
