Kindness can be spotted throughout SJS on any given day, but during the month of October we chose to increase our awareness of kindness and our own acts of kindness. Throughout the month, students heard an array of stories focusing on kindness both in their classrooms and during morning assembly. This week’s story was “A Little Spot of Kindness” by Diane Alber. “Did you know that every time you are kind, a layer of happiness is added to your heart and to the heart of others?” Students will round out the month by completing an activity to track their kindness for one week.
When students were noticed displaying kindness to others, they were awarded s spirit stick by teachers throughout the building and their names were displayed on the bulletin board in the lobby. Our kindness will continue throughout the year and next month we will focus on manners.
