Due to a scheduling conflict, Field Day for Wednesday, 6/12 has been changed to Thursday, 6/13 for grades 1 to 3. Sorry for any inconvenience. 

School is closed tomorrow 5/24 and Monday, 5/27 for the Memorial Day Weekend.

Thursday, 5/30 – We will be attending mass on Thursday, 5/30 for The Feast of the Ascension (Holy Thursday). Dress uniform is required. No dress down cards will be accepted for this day.

 Memorial Day Parade – If you would like to show your support for our school, you are invited to join some of the Parish members in the Wynantskill Parade on Monday, May 25th. Wear green and white, our school colors! Please meet them on Dodge Street at 12:45PM.

Feed the Students Summer Program and Personal Care Drive – St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Community will be collecting items designed to bring continuity to the Federal Lunch Program and other such programs by making food and personal care items available during the summer months to enrolled and/or qualifying families. We are asking that you purchase the inexpensive grocery food bags and to fill them with the following items:

Bag#1: Pasta, Sauce, Macaroni and Cheese, Spaghettios, Ravioli, or Beefaroni, Peanut Butter, Jelly, Soup, Toothpaste and Toothbrush.

Bag#2: Canned Fruit, Tuna Fish, Mayonnaise, Cereal, Crackers, Canned Vegetables, Kid’s Shampoo and Hand Soap.

All bags should be sent into school no later than Monday, June 3rd. Thank you for helping our community children with your generosity.

Volunteer Appreciation Dinner – The 2019 Volunteer Appreciation Dinner is Thursday, June 6th from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the Franklin Terrace Banquet House on Campbell’s Ave. in Troy. The Dinner is for anyone who gives their time and talent to our Parish and School. We are looking forward to be able to thank you for your generous services to our community. RSVP by 5/28/19 by calling (518) 283-1162 or send in the form that was sent home with your child to the school.

Perennial Flower Request – If you have not already noticed our garden on both sides of the front sidewalk have been looking great! A BIG thank you to Jodi Agnew and Analise Agy for cleaning it up. We are now looking for perennial flowers to plant there. If you are cleaning up your garden and have any extra perennial flowers to donate please let us know.  We would also like to request that you keep the children off of the gardens so that they can take root and grow with beauty. Jody and Analise worked hard and we all need to respect that. Thank you!

Paul Effman Music –As the school year comes to a close, we want to offer you the chance to SAVE $25 for each child that you register for next year (2019-2020 school year). You can register students who have been in the program before and new students who will be participating for the first time – all students will receive the discount. Also, if you rent an instrument and plan to rent again next year, you do not need to return it. When you register, choose the “Keep My Current Rental” option. If you do want to keep your rental, please register before your Spring Concert and your instrument will not have to be returned when they are collected.

Vacation Bible School- “Roar!” July 8-12, 2019(9:00AM to Noon) and “Escape to Athens with Paul” July 24-28, 2019 (9:00AM to Noon) – Join us for a great time! These programs are designed for children ages 4 to 11 yrs old. The cost for each session is $30.00 per child, $15.00 for each additional sibling. Registration forms will be coming home soon or call the Parish office for more information (518-283-1162).

As always we have our running fundraisers that will continue on into summer! So please continue to keep us in mind!

Colonie Center School Bucks – We are currently in 9th place which is eligible for a prize. This weekend Colonie Center is quadrupling points!  Submit your receipts from Colonie Center to the Guest Services ASAP.  Every dollar spent equal’s one school buck for St. Jude School!

Our last PCA meeting will be June 3, 2019 in the Library at 6:30PM. If you chaired an event this year, please bring any information on your event that you may have worked on as we are going to set up folders for each event for next year to help with planning and passing on any information for the following year. If you can’t attend this meeting please leave this information in the office and we will set that folder up for you.

Disinfecting Wipes – The school has run out of disinfecting wipes due to all the illnesses during this past winter. If anyone would like to donate some disinfecting wipes it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Registration for the 2019-20 School Year – Registration packets were sent home for the 2019-20 school year. Please register as soon as possible. A $100.00 non-refundable registration fee per family will be needed to hold your child/children’s spot. Pre-K and Kindergarten are starting to fill up! We are now dating the registrations as they come in to keep track of the number of children aloud in each classroom. There is only ONE spot left in our full day 4yr. old class! We are now on a waiting list for 4yr. old full day.  

Student Styles Spring Sale – Student Styles will be having a “Spring Sale” from June 1 to June 15th with 10% off all uniforms, items, in stock, store orders, and web orders. They are located at 15 Cobbee Rd., Latham and can be reached at 518-220-9244.
