About Miss Jeffers

Megan Jeffers grew up in Latham and attended North Colonie Schools. She knew she wanted to be a teacher from a young age, and loved playing “school” with her younger sisters, dolls, and her stuffed animals.  She was also inspired by her mother to become a teacher as she enjoyed helping to set up her classroom and grade papers.

Megan earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Russell Sage College. She also earned a Master’s Degree in Literacy Education from Sage Graduate School, and has her New York State Permanent Certification in Elementary Education (Pre K, K, Grades 1-6).  She also has her New York State Professional Certificate in Literacy Education in Grades K-6.

Megan’s teaching career began at St. Patrick’s Academy in Catskill where she taught fourth grade for four years. In her fifth year, she taught a combined 4th and 5th grade class.  After St. Patrick’s Academy closed in 2007, she substituted in many area school districts in the areas of elementary classroom and also literacy.  Megan was also the head teacher of the preschool for the YWCA of Northeastern NY Early Learning Program. Megan is currently in her 4th year teaching a combined 4th and 5th grade class at St. Jude the Apostle School in Wynantskill. It was an honor to receive recognition as WYNT Top Teacher in January, 2022.

When Megan is not in the classroom, she enjoys reading, watching her son Jasen play soccer and lacrosse, baking, and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys watching her students participate in their extracurricular activities. She volunteers as the secretary for Jasen’s soccer league, Fifty FC in Glenville.

Miss Jeffers loves being part of the amazing faculty at St. Jude the Apostle School! She loves helping her students find a love of reading and grow as life-long learners!
