Homework is important because it is a great way to review concepts that we learned during the day. It is also a great way for me to see if the students are ready to move onto the next lesson.
Each night for homework your child will need to:
Read every night for 20 to 30 minutes.
Complete a reading log (provided in school). The Reading Log must include the Title and Author of the book and a minimum of 5 sentences about what they read. They can use the 5 W’s to help them organize their summary: Who, What, Where, When, and Why.
Practice your addition/subtraction and multiplication/division facts each night with the goal of automatic recall.
Practice makes perfect especially in Math! A Math worksheet will be given each night to review concepts learned in class that day!
